Katara Oud Center collaboration with Istanbul Technical University

The Katara Oud Center, dedicated to fostering the professional development of oud art and regional music, has formalized a collaboration with Istanbul Technical University to enhance its educational offerings to an academic standard. 

The agreement, signed by the Chairman of the Katara Oud Centerand General Manager of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, along with the Rector of Istanbul Technical University, Prof. Dr.Ismail Koyuncu, aims to establish a qualified educational certification system for KataraOud Centerthat shall obtain accreditation from Istanbul Technical University. In sense of this synergy, faculty members from the university’s Conservatory to conduct training programs and seminars at the Katara Oud Center, focusing on vocal training, composition, instrumental performance, music theory, and music technologies such instrument manufacturing and digital music production..

Furthermore, the agreement is envisaged to motivate the efforts of Katara Oud Centerthat concentrates on musical research & development, and the field of musicology. It is mutually declared that jointly organized art and cultural activities between the two institutions are expected to sow the seeds of an unparalleled cultural exchange platform.
