Katara Oud Center
With the beginning of the Katara Oud Festival in 2017 in the cultural village (Katara),then His Excellency Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, the Director General of Katara announced the launching of the idea of establishing a specialized center for this ancient Eastern machine. And indeed a building equipped with all the architectural and technical capabilities was dedicated to embracing this center , so that it can be an integrated platform for incubating talents, developing capabilities, supporting ideas and projects, and caring for its industry.
In 2019, the Cultural village (Katara) announced the name of the Executive Director of this center, which is Professor Muhammad Abdullah Al Marzouqi, a Qatari musician who also has a long-standing experience in the musical and administrative affairs, to form his team and present the vision, projects and ideas that will achieve the desired goal of the establishment of an integrated cultural center. In the fourth edition of the Katara Oud Festival, we are pleased to open this center to be a source of artistic and cultural radiation serving Qatar, the region, and even the world, in the field of supporting and developing the oud machine.
